Samsung Launches One UI 7 for Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has officially released the stable One UI 7 update for its Galaxy S24 series in South Korea, following months of beta testing. This new update, based on Google’s Android 15 operating system, introduces a range of customization options, visual enhancements, and a revamped notification system called Now Bar. The update also features redesigned widgets and an array of new capabilities powered by the Galaxy AI suite.

One UI 7 Update Availability

According to a recent announcement on Samsung’s South Korea community forum, users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra are now receiving the stable One UI 7 update. Those who participated in the One UI beta program can transition to the official version and will continue to receive future updates ahead of other users. The One UI 7 update is being rolled out alongside the Galaxy S24 series, which includes three models. Additionally, Samsung’s flagship foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, are among the first to receive this Android 15-based update.

Samsung has indicated that the One UI 7 update will extend to several other devices in the coming weeks. Eligible models include the Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. However, the exact release dates for these devices have yet to be confirmed.

One UI 7 Features

One UI 7 places a strong emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the user experience. A key feature of this update is the Now Bar, a pill-shaped bar located at the bottom of the screen that displays various information through stacked cards. Users can view music currently playing, flight schedules, Google Maps directions, delivery updates, and live sports scores directly on their lock screens. Another notable feature, Now Brief, extends the functionality of the Now Bar by providing a comprehensive overview of the user’s day, including weather updates, reminders, calendar events, and health information.

Samsung has also enhanced its Galaxy AI capabilities with several new tools. The AI Select feature allows users to highlight specific areas of the screen, while Writing Assist and Drawing Assist facilitate text summarization and formatting, as well as image creation based on sketches or text prompts. Furthermore, the Gemini integration enables users to inquire about content displayed on their screens and perform cross-app actions, such as locating pet-friendly Italian restaurants and sharing the information with friends.
