Samsung Launches Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in India

Samsung has officially launched its highly anticipated Galaxy S-series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. The new lineup features the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and the premium Galaxy S26 Ultra. While the design closely resembles the previous generation, Samsung has prioritized internal enhancements, software updates, and innovative artificial intelligence features. Here’s a closer look at what these new models offer.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: AI Features and Software Changes

The Galaxy S26 series introduces a range of advanced AI tools aimed at enhancing user experience. One notable feature, called Now Nudge, provides context-based suggestions. For instance, it can display recent photos during a chat or check calendar entries when scheduling is mentioned in messages. Another feature, Now Brief, offers reminders and updates tailored to daily usage patterns, making it easier for users to stay organized.

Additionally, the Circle to Search functionality has been upgraded to support multi-object recognition, allowing users to select and search for multiple items within a single image simultaneously. The series also includes AI-powered Call Screening, which identifies unknown callers and summarizes their purpose. Privacy Alerts notify users if apps with device administrator access attempt to access sensitive data without justification. Furthermore, a new Private Album option in the Gallery app enables users to hide selected photos and videos directly. Samsung has also enhanced Bixby, improving its conversational responses and integration across Galaxy devices.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Specifications and Features

The Galaxy S26 Ultra boasts a stunning 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. A built-in Privacy Display feature reduces screen visibility from side angles while maintaining clarity for the user. This system activates automatically during password entry or within selected apps, offering partial screen privacy for notifications and a maximum privacy mode for enhanced side protection.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, promising significant performance improvements in CPU, GPU, and NPU compared to its predecessor. A redesigned vapor chamber enhances heat management during gaming, multitasking, and video recording. For photography enthusiasts, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a quad rear camera system, including a 200MP wide camera with 2x optical zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It also includes a 12MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device supports a 5,000mAh battery with 60W wired charging, capable of reaching up to 75% charge in approximately 30 minutes with a compatible adapter. Wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare are also available, alongside robust connectivity options including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.

Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus

The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus share many specifications, differing primarily in display size and battery capacity.
