Samsung Launches Galaxy Book 6 Series Featuring Intel Core Ultra 3 Processors
Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest Galaxy Book 6 series of Windows laptops at CES 2026, showcasing a significant upgrade in hardware and integrated AI capabilities. The new lineup includes three models: the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and Galaxy Book 6, all powered by the advanced Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. While the overall design remains consistent with previous iterations, Samsung has prioritized enhancements in speed, battery life, display quality, and on-device AI processing.
Core Ultra Series 3 and On-Device AI
The Galaxy Book 6 series is equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which deliver improved CPU performance and feature a robust neural processing unit (NPU) tailored for AI applications. This innovative setup enables users to perform tasks such as image editing, translation, and note summarization directly on the device, eliminating the need for cloud services. Some configurations can achieve an impressive 50 trillion operations per second through the NPU, significantly enhancing the efficiency of AI-driven functions.
Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra
Leading the new series is the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, designed for users requiring substantial computing power. This model offers optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 Laptop GPUs, catering to graphics-intensive tasks. Samsung has also revamped the cooling system, incorporating larger vapor chambers and optimizing airflow to maintain performance during extended use. The company emphasizes improved battery life and rapid charging capabilities, ensuring that users can rely on the device throughout their workday.
The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra and Pro models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with adaptive refresh rates ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz. Samsung has enhanced visibility through touch input and advanced anti-reflective coatings. The Ultra model boasts a six-speaker system with Dolby Atmos technology, while the Pro models have strategically adjusted speaker placements to enhance audio quality during calls and media playback. Despite these upgrades, design changes are minimal, with the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra measuring just over 15mm in thickness and the 16-inch Galaxy Book 6 Pro under 12mm. Key design elements, such as the centered logo and keyboard layout, remain unchanged.
Expanded Galaxy AI Features
Samsung is also broadening its Galaxy AI features across the entire lineup. New tools, including AI Select, background removal, natural language search, and Note Assist, come pre-installed on the devices. When used in conjunction with other Galaxy products, users can take advantage of features like Multi Control, Storage Share, and Second Screen, enhancing the overall user experience.
The Galaxy Book 6 series is set to launch in select markets starting in late January 2026, with an Enterprise Edition expected to follow in April. This release marks a significant step forward for Samsung in the competitive laptop market, combining powerful hardware with innovative AI capabilities to meet the needs of modern users.
