ReFantazio Launches on Xbox Game Pass This May; Microsoft

It’s an exciting time for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Microsoft unveils a fresh lineup of games set to join the service in late May and early June. Among the highlights are the highly anticipated RPG Metaphor ReFantazio, along with other notable titles like Tales of Kenzera: Zau and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. These additions promise to enhance the gaming experience for members, with several games launching on their release day.

Upcoming Titles for Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass will welcome a variety of new titles, starting with Metaphor ReFantazio, which is scheduled to arrive on May 29. This game, nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024, is developed by the creators of the Persona series. Players can expect an engaging narrative, unique art style, and intricate gameplay mechanics that have garnered critical acclaim.

Additionally, Tales of Kenzera: Zau, which debuted last year on multiple platforms, will be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from May 22. This title adds to the diverse offerings of the service, appealing to fans of various genres. The second wave of releases also includes three day-one launches: Monster Train 2, Spray Paint Simulator, and To a T, which will be available on May 21, May 28, and May 29, respectively. This lineup reflects Microsoft’s commitment to providing fresh content for its subscribers.

Full List of New Additions

The complete list of games joining Xbox Game Pass from late May through early June includes several exciting titles. On May 21, Monster Train 2 will be available, followed by Creatures of Ava and Stalker 2 on May 22. Tales of Kenzera: Zau will also launch on May 22, while Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be added on May 27. The month wraps up with To a T and Metaphor ReFantazio on May 28 and May 29, respectively. Additionally, Spray Paint Simulator will also be available on May 29. Looking ahead to June, Crypt Custodian and Symphonia will join the lineup, ensuring that subscribers have a steady stream of new content to explore.

In conjunction with these new titles, Microsoft has announced that 15 games will receive Xbox Cloud Gaming support starting May 23. This expansion will enhance the accessibility of the Game Pass library, allowing players to enjoy their favorite titles on various devices. However, it’s important to note that some games will be leaving the service on May 31, including Cassette Beasts, Firework, Humanity, Remnant 2, and Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengeance of the Slayer.

Introduction of Retro Classics

In a separate announcement, Microsoft revealed the launch of Retro Classics, a collection featuring over 50 classic Activision games from the 1980s and 1990s. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Antstream Arcade, will be available to Game Pass members globally starting May 21. The Retro Classics collection aims to preserve gaming history and provide players with the opportunity to enjoy timeless titles on modern devices.

The collection will include beloved games such as Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Pitfall!. Microsoft emphasized that this initiative reflects their commitment to game preservation and backward compatibility. Retro Classics will be accessible across various platforms, including PC, Xbox consoles, and supported devices like LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Game Pass members can easily find and install the Retro Classics app on their Xbox console or through the Xbox app on PC. Microsoft plans to expand the library over time, aiming to include over 100 Activision and Blizzard games, further enriching the gaming experience for subscribers.
