Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 Smart Glasses Launches in India: Explore Pricing and Availability

Ray-Ban has officially launched its Meta Gen 2 smart glasses in India, marking an exciting advancement in wearable technology. These AI-powered glasses, developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, are now available for purchase through major e-commerce platforms and retail outlets. The new model, which debuted globally in September, boasts significant upgrades over its predecessor, including enhanced battery life, improved camera capabilities, and a wider variety of colors and frame styles.

Price and Availability in India

The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses are priced starting at Rs. 39,900 in India. Consumers can choose from three distinct frame styles: Headliner, Skyler, and Wayfarer. Additionally, the new collection features seasonal color options such as Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet, and Shiny Asteroid Grey. The glasses became available for purchase on December 2, through the Ray-Ban India website and various optical and eyewear retailers across the country. However, Meta has yet to confirm if the Gen 2 glasses will support prescription, sun, polarized, or Transitions lenses.

Design and Camera Upgrades

The design of the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 closely resembles that of the original model, featuring a 12MP camera with an LED light integrated into circular cutouts on both sides of the frame. This LED serves as a recording indicator during video capture. The camera now supports video recording in up to 3K resolution at 30 frames per second, while still capturing images at a resolution of 3,024 x 4,032 pixels. Meta has also announced plans to introduce additional recording modes, including slow-motion and hyperlapse, through future software updates.

Features and Battery Life

The Meta Gen 2 smart glasses come equipped with a feature called Conversation Focus, which utilizes open-ear speakers to enhance the voice of the person users are conversing with. A five-microphone array is included to improve noise reduction and clarity during calls and recordings. The glasses offer enhanced battery performance, providing up to eight hours of usage on a single charge. Additionally, the included charging case claims to extend the glasses’ usage by an extra 48 hours, making them a practical choice for users throughout the day.
