PROBATIONERS OF INDIAN RAILWAYS CALL ON THE PRESIDENT

A group of 255 Indian Railways parolees (2018 batch) called on the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center today (September 14, 2023).

Addressing the parolees, the President said that Indian Railways is the backbone of not only the Indian economy but also the socio-cultural unity and diversity of India. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of young officers like them to take forward the rich legacy of the railway ecosystem and strive to make Indian Railways the provider of the best quality services in the world.

The President said that today technology is the driving force in all fields. He emphasized that for Indian Railways, which caters to the needs and demands of millions of people every day and transports millions of tonnes of goods every month, leveraging technology to the best possible extent is a must. He urged the young officers to help chart a new path in the country’s technological progress by devising new applications and systems for human-scale and eco-friendly transportation systems.

The President said that people who travel by train carry with them memories of their journeys. He urged officials to treat passengers as their guests and provide the best service and experience they can appreciate. He also underlined the need to ensure the safety of passengers by all means. He said that with advanced technology and AI-based applications, efficient and foolproof systems should be designed, giving top priority to railway safety.
