Priyanka Chopra’s Former Manager Prakash Jaju Files Lawsuit Against Rajpal Yadav and Producers Over Unpaid Loans
Rajpal Yadav’s legal troubles continue to mount as he faces a new cheque bounce case filed by film producer Prakash Jaju. This comes on the heels of a challenging start to the year for the actor, who recently spent time in jail due to multiple cheque bounce cases. The situation has escalated, with summons issued not only to Yadav but also to producer Mahendra Dhariwal and Sohel Maklai, known for his work on films like Cash and Dhaakad.
New Legal Challenges for Rajpal Yadav
Bollywood Hungama has obtained a copy of the summons issued to Rajpal Yadav by Farhan M Qureshi, Judicial Magistrate First Class in Dr Ambedkar Nagar district, Madhya Pradesh. The summons indicates that a complaint has been filed against Yadav under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The complaint alleges that a cheque worth Rs. 5 lakhs, issued by Yadav, was dishonoured when presented for payment. The actor has been ordered to appear in court on September 11, 2026.
Prakash Jaju confirmed the legal action, stating, “I have filed a case against Rajpal Yadav, Mahendra Dhariwal and Sohel Maklai, and the court has issued summons to all three. I had advanced loans to them and accepted cheques as security. When they failed to repay the money, I deposited the cheques, but those cheques bounced.” Jaju further detailed the amounts owed, revealing that Dhariwal owes him Rs. 50 lakhs, Yadav owes Rs. 25 lakhs, and Maklai owes Rs. 40 lakhs.
Additional Claims Against Sohel Maklai
In a related development, distributor Ankit Chandiramani has also come forward with claims against Sohel Maklai. He stated that during the production of Dhaakad, Maklai borrowed Rs. 10 lakhs from him and similar amounts from director Vishal Mishra and executive producer Manan Sampat. Chandiramani noted, “Sohel promised to repay the money, but he failed to do so. He even had members of his family call me and make emotional appeals, saying that they were facing financial difficulties and assuring me that the money would be returned.”
Chandiramani mentioned that Maklai did return Rs. 3 lakhs but still owes him Rs. 7 lakhs. He also highlighted that Maklai has yet to repay Rs. 8.50 lakhs to Vishal Mishra. Aware of Jaju’s legal actions against Maklai, Chandiramani expressed his intention to pursue similar measures.
