On 10 September 2023, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met HE Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and HE Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
Both visitors congratulated the Prime Minister on India’s successful G20 Presidency.
The discussions focused on various aspects of the India-EU strategic partnership, including the upcoming India-EU summit, ongoing negotiations on the free trade agreement, climate change and LiFE, digital technology and the Trade Council and technology (TTC).
The leaders also discussed the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, launched on September 9, 2023. They felt that the Corridor should be implemented expeditiously. The Prime Minister also highlighted the possibilities of solar projects under the Corridor.
