On July 15, 2023, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met in Abu Dhabi with Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the President-designate of CoP28 and Group Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Discussions were held on the upcoming COP-28 of the UNFCCC under the presidency of the UAE. Dr. Jaber briefed the Prime Minister on the UAE’s approach to this important meeting. The prime minister expressed India’s full support to the UAE for its COP-28 presidency. The prime minister also highlighted India’s efforts and initiatives to address climate change, including International SolarAlliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, International Year of Millets and Mission Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE).
Discussions also covered energy cooperation between India and the UAE.
