Prime Minister to Inaugurate World Food India 2025 on September 25 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is gearing up to host the fourth edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025 from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This significant global food event will span an impressive 100,000 square meters and is expected to attract participants from over 21 countries, 21 Indian states and Union Territories, 10 central ministries, and five allied government organizations. The event aims to be the largest gathering of stakeholders in India’s food processing sector.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on September 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The inaugural session will also feature notable dignitaries, including Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and several Indian ministers. Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, emphasized that World Food India is more than just a trade show; it serves as a transformative platform to position India as a global leader in food innovation and sustainability.

Event Highlights and Participation

World Food India 2025 will showcase a diverse range of participants and activities. The event will feature over 1,700 exhibitors and more than 500 international buyers, representing over 100 nations. Notably, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia will serve as partner countries, while Japan, Russia, the UAE, and Vietnam will be highlighted as focus countries. The event will also include over 45 knowledge sessions, which will cover thematic discussions, state and country-specific conferences, and CXO roundtables with more than 100 global agri-food leaders.

In addition to the main event, several parallel activities will take place, including the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit, aimed at harmonizing global food safety standards, and the 24th India International Seafood Show, which will highlight India’s seafood export potential. A Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet will also be organized, featuring participation from over 1,000 buyers. Special exhibitions will showcase international pavilions, state and ministry pavilions, a Pet Food Pavilion, a Technology Pavilion, and a MoFPI Start-up Innovation Pavilion.

Core Themes of the Event

World Food India 2025 will revolve around five core pillars that reflect the current trends and future directions of the food processing industry. These pillars include Sustainability and Net Zero Food Processing, positioning India as a Global Food Processing Hub, advancements in Food Processing, Products and Packaging Technologies, Food for Nutrition, Health and Wellness, and the role of Livestock and Marine Products in accelerating the Indian rural economy.

The event aims to foster discussions and collaborations that will drive innovation and investment in the food processing sector. By focusing on these themes, the organizers hope to address critical issues and promote sustainable practices within the industry.

Publications and Contributions

In preparation for the event, Union Minister Chirag Paswan launched a publication titled “Frequently Asked Questions on Different Concepts of Food Processing.” This initiative, developed in consultation with industry stakeholders, aims to dispel myths surrounding processed foods and provide science-based information to help consumers make informed choices.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has acknowledged the contributions of various government ministries, departments, and organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and the Department of Fisheries. Their collaborative efforts have been instrumental in organizing this significant event, which promises to be a landmark platform for showcasing India’s advancements in food processing and fostering international collaborations.
