The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, received His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (11 September 2023). He even organized a banquet in his honor.
Welcoming the Crown Prince to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said Saudi Arabia is one of India’s most important strategic partners. He was pleased to note that bilateral ties between India and Saudi Arabia have strengthened significantly in recent years.
President Murmu said that in the modern world, India and Saudi Arabia’s shared cultural experiences, economic synergies and shared commitment to a peaceful and sustainable world make us natural partners.
The President said that the economic component of the India-Saudi Arabia partnership has also grown in recent years. He added that there are ample opportunities to increase Saudi investments in India in various sectors.
The President said Saudi Arabia has welcomed a large number of Indian expatriates and given them space to thrive and grow. Through their hard work and professionalism, they have made significant contributions to the growth and prosperity of Saudi Arabia. He thanked Saudi Arabia for taking care of them.
The President appreciated Saudi Arabia’s role as a positive force for peace and stability. He expressed confidence that this visit of the Crown Prince and his participation in the G20 summit will further strengthen the multi-faceted partnership between India and Saudi Arabia.
