Users can interact with ChatGPT to explore low-cost travel options, verify merchant details, or compare services prior to completing a UPI transaction. Additionally, PhonePe has confirmed that OpenAI will gain access to the Indus Appstore, furthering its expansion in the Indian market.

The company has established its first office in Mumbai and announced a substantial investment plan to build a 1GW data center. Furthermore, OpenAI has partnered with Razorpay and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to explore AI-enabled UPI payments using ChatGPT, paving the way for innovative conversational commerce solutions.

To encourage wider adoption of its AI tools, OpenAI is offering free access to ChatGPT Go for a period of 12 months.
