Outreach activities at ENC on World Environment Day

As part of various initiatives and activities planned by the Indian Navy to commemorate World Environment Day โ€“ 2023, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) has undertaken Beach Cleanup and Plantation initiatives in all the coastal states of India on 5 June 23 Oriental Coast. The events saw a very large attendance of Navy, DSC and Civil Defense personnel along with their family members.

The objective of the beach cleanup campaign was to educate all staff, their family members and other citizens about the accumulation and negative impact of litter/rubbish along coastlines and beaches, along with measures to mitigate the same. The washed up debris and plastic waste was collected, separated and delivered for safe disposal.

The planting drives carried out at all naval stations further affirmed the Indian Navy’s commitment to environmental conservation and the Go Green concept. Kendriya Vidyalayas’ teachers and students participated by planting saplings in the school premises. The outreach activities undertaken by the Eastern Naval Command to strengthen the ๐™‡๐™ž๐™›๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ฎ๐™ก๐™š Mission ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง The Government of India’s ๐™€๐™ฃ๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ (LiFE) initiative kicked off with the LiFE Commitment Ceremony. This was followed by activities that included blood donation camps, awareness seminars, bike rallies, tree planting drives, beach cleanups and other environmental initiatives.
