Nominations Open for Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards 2025

The Ministry of Ayush has officially announced the opening of nominations for the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards for the 2025 edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY2025). This prestigious award aims to honor individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga, both in India and globally. The awards serve as a recognition of the profound impact Yoga has on society, particularly in areas of health and wellness.
Celebrating Contributions to Yoga
The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards were established to acknowledge the exemplary efforts of those who have dedicated their lives to the practice and promotion of Yoga. These awards highlight Yoga’s crucial role in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of lifestyle-related disorders. By recognizing these contributions, the awards reinforce the importance of Yoga in enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities.
Endorsed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, these awards reflect the Indian government’s commitment to promoting Yoga as a vital aspect of holistic health. The awards will be presented in various categories, including National Individual, National Organization, International Individual, and International Organization. Each winner will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash award of Rs. 25 lakh. This recognition not only honors the recipients but also inspires others to contribute to the field of Yoga.
Eligibility and Application Process
To be eligible for the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards, individuals must be at least 40 years old and have a minimum of 20 years of dedicated service in promoting Yoga. Applications and nominations can be submitted through the MyGov platform, with a deadline set for March 31, 2025. The application link will also be accessible on the Ministry of Ayush’s official website and the websites of its autonomous bodies.
Applicants can either apply directly or be nominated by a recognized Yoga organization. It is important to note that each applicant or nominee can submit an application for only one category—either National or International—per year. This structured approach ensures that the awards maintain a high standard of recognition and that deserving candidates are honored appropriately.
Evaluation Process and Jury
Once the nominations are submitted, a Screening Committee formed by the Ministry of Ayush will review all applications. This committee will recommend a maximum of 50 names for each award category to the Evaluation Jury. The Jury will consist of eminent personalities from various fields, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation process.
The Evaluation Jury serves as the apex decision-making body for the awards. Their expertise and diverse backgrounds will help in selecting the most deserving candidates for the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards. This rigorous evaluation process not only enhances the credibility of the awards but also ensures that the contributions of individuals and organizations are recognized at the highest level.
