NHPC Limited, India’s largest hydropower development organization, attended the 91st Annual Meeting of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD 2023), held in Gothenburg, Sweden from 11th to 15th June 2023. The NHPC delegation presented several papers and posters on critical issues faced by hydropower developers, which were highly appreciated by the attendees. Topics NHPC submitted papers on included dam management and safety issues, seepage control measures, seismic issues, and dam repair and rehabilitation.
NHPC’s capabilities in the field of hydropower development were showcased in a special pavilion during the event. NHPC officials also participated in ICOLD Technical Committee discussions on sedimentation and shared their experience in managing sediment for cascade projects.
The NHPC has benefited greatly from the overall exposure and experience gained by its senior officials through participation in this prestigious event.
The NHPC delegation was led by the Director (Finance), RPGoyal, and the Director (Projects), Biswajit Basu.
