New Printing Facility Launched at Legislative Department

In a significant development for the Legislative Department, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, inaugurated a new in-house printing setup today at Shastri Bhawan. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Secretary of the Legislative Department, along with staff members from various wings, such as the Official Language Wing and Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan.

The inauguration marked the beginning of operations for the new printing facility, highlighted by the printing of a copy of the Index to Statutory Definitions (Fourth Edition), which was presented to the Minister during the event. This marks a crucial advancement in the department’s efforts to enhance its operational efficiency.

Enhancing Efficiency and Timeliness

During the event, Minister Meghwal underscored the importance of establishing an in-house printing setup. He articulated that this facility would enable the Legislative Department to ensure the timely and efficient publication of essential legal documents, law books, and newsletters. The minister emphasized that having this capability within the department would significantly streamline the publication process, making it more responsive to the needs of the public and the legal community.

By facilitating the printing of vital documents, the department aims to provide up-to-date resources not just for lawmakers but also for citizens seeking to understand legislative changes and legal definitions. This initiative represents a commitment to transparency and accessibility within the framework of India’s legal system.

A Step Towards Modernization

The launch of the printing facility is part of a broader strategy to modernize the Legislative Department’s operations. As government functions increasingly rely on technology and efficient practices, this new setup aligns with the governmental goal of enhancing functionality through modern tools. The added capability is expected to reduce delays traditionally associated with outsourcing printing services.
