The first trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX was unveiled during the Gundam Conference Winter 2024, offering a glimpse into the series’ intense battles and high-stakes conflicts. The plot is set in an alternate timeline where pivotal events from the original Mobile Suit Gundam have been dramatically altered. In this reimagined history, Char Aznable steals and pilots the RX-78-2 Gundam, renaming it the “Red Gundam,” which leads to Zeon’s victory in the One Year War. Five years after this conflict, the story follows protagonist Amate Yuzuriha as she becomes entangled in the underground world of Clan Battle, an illegal mobile suit dueling sport. Her interactions with Nyaan, a refugee, and Shuji, the new pilot of the Red Gundam, ignite a series of events that could change their world forever.

The anime is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, renowned for his work on FLCL and Evangelion. The screenplay is crafted by Yoji Enokido and Hideaki Anno, while character designs are by Take. Mechanical designs are handled by Ikuto Yamashita, and the musical score is composed by Yoshimasa Terui and Masayuki Hasuo. The voice cast features Tomoyo Kurosawa as Amate Yuzuriha, Yui Ishikawa as Nyaan, and Shimba Tsuchiya as Shuji Ito. Notably, Yuuki Shin voices Char Aznable, a legendary character from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, adding depth to the new narrative.
