National Geographic Society Strengthens Leadership with Two Key Appointments

The National Geographic Society has announced two senior leadership changes as it prepares for the 2026 opening of its new Museum of Exploration.

Jennifer Chick has been named Chief Marketing and Brand Officer. With more than 25 years of experience in brand strategy and customer growth โ€” most recently as SVP and Global Head of Loyalty at Hilton โ€” Chick will lead efforts to expand the Societyโ€™s reach, strengthen partnerships (including with Disney), and build new pathways for philanthropy.

The Society also promoted Duncan Phillips to Chief Communications Officer. A veteran of the organization with over a decade of service, Phillips will oversee strategic communications, crisis management, executive visibility, internal messaging, andย securing media coverageย worldwide. He will report directly to Chick.

The moves signal the nonprofitโ€™s intent to modernize its marketing and communications ahead of a major public-facing milestone.
