National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) Hosts 4th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025 in Odisha
The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) is set to host the 4th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025 from November 11 to 15 in Odisha, specifically in Rourkela, Sundargarh, and Rajgangpur. This significant event will gather student athletes from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across 21 states and one union territory, aiming to foster sporting excellence among tribal students. The inauguration of the sports meet took place at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, with the Honorable Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, officiating the ceremony.
The 4th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025 was officially inaugurated by Shri Jual Oram, the Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, on November 11, 2025. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and torch, symbolizing the start of this prestigious event. In his inaugural address, Minister Oram emphasized the importance of quality education in achieving comprehensive development for tribal communities. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s commitment to enhancing tribal education and co-curricular activities, underscoring the government’s proactive efforts through NESTS to provide tribal students with opportunities to excel in various fields, including sports, arts, and culture.
