National Career Service Portal: Empowering Job Seekers Nationwide

The National Career Service (NCS) Portal has emerged as a vital resource for job seekers across India, providing a comprehensive suite of career-related services. Utilizing a digital platform, the portal connects individuals with job opportunities in both private and government sectors, alongside facilitating access to online and offline job fairs, job matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, and a variety of skill development courses.

As of January 20, 2026, the NCS Portal boasts over 78.86 lakh job seekers and more than 12.36 lakh employers actively registered. Remarkably, the platform has mobilized over 3.43 crore job vacancies during the fiscal year 2025-26, showcasing its significant role in the job market.

Model Career Centres Boost Employment Services

In addition to its extensive digital offerings, the NCS project includes the establishment of Model Career Centres (MCCs) in partnership with various states and institutions. To date, the Indian government has approved 407 MCCs nationwide, designed to provide on-the-ground employment services to communities.

Career Counselling and Guidance

The NCS Portal also features a dedicated module for career counsellors, enhancing the guidance available to job seekers. Currently, over 1,180 career counsellors have signed up, conducting more than 55 lakh career guidance sessions both online and offline across the country.

Enhancing Skills for Employability

To further equip youth with essential employable skills, the NCS Portal offers various online programmes focusing on employability and digital skills. Moreover, it is integrated with the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), facilitating skill development opportunities for job seekers. This integration allows skilled job seekers on SIDH to benefit from the resources available on the NCS Portal, as well as enabling access to training services offered by SIDH.

Increasing Awareness and Community Engagement

The NCS Portal actively works to raise awareness about its services and job vacancies through regular social media updates and monthly e-newsletters that highlight new initiatives and developments. Model Career Centres conduct outreach activities such as workshops and orientation programmes, further enhancing engagement with stakeholders.
