Modi to Unveil ₹16,680 Crore Development Projects in Ajmer
On February 28, 2026, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to visit Ajmer, Rajasthan, to inaugurate a series of significant development projects totaling over ₹16,680 crore. The Prime Minister’s visit will kick off at approximately 11:30 AM, with plans to launch various initiatives that encompass a wide array of sectors, including urban development, water supply, road infrastructure, irrigation, energy, and industrial projects. Additionally, he will address a public gathering during the event, highlighting the government’s commitment to development.
Nationwide HPV Vaccination for Girls
In a pivotal move enhancing public health, the Prime Minister will initiate a nationwide campaign for the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination targeting girls aged 14. This impactful initiative aims to prevent cervical cancer, a major health concern among women, and represents a significant step in bolstering the long-term health of girls and women throughout India.
Improving Road Connectivity
To elevate road connectivity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate numerous National Highway projects. Notable among these is the 4-lane greenfield expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur, and a 6-lane access-controlled highway as part of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for an 8-lane carriageway on the Delhi-Vadodara Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway, alongside a 4-lane elevated road in Jodhpur City and critical upgrades to the Malabmori-Mangrol-Baran State Highway in Baran district.
Commitment to Clean Drinking Water
In alignment with the Government’s focus on ensuring safe drinking water for every citizen, the Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for several major drinking water projects. This includes four packages for the Nonera Major Drinking Water Project and five packages for the Parwan Akawad Major Drinking Water Project.
Advancing Renewable Energy
As part of efforts to enhance renewable energy infrastructure in Rajasthan, the Prime Minister will inaugurate new transmission systems designed to optimize electricity evacuation from Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in the state. Moreover, he will lay the foundation for five 220 KV Grid Substations and two 400 KV Grid Substations, together with associated transmission lines, to strengthen the state’s energy capabilities.
Boosting Employment for Youth
In a drive to promote employment and empower the youth, the Prime Minister will distribute over 21,800 appointment letters to newly recruited personnel across various government departments and organizations in Rajasthan. This initiative underscores the government’s emphasis on creating job opportunities for the younger population in the region.
