India Hackathon 2023 finale for Students and Start-ups in IIT Gandhinagar

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) of Union Ministry of Education and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore to Hold Final of Third Annual Singapore-India (SI) Hackathon at IIT Campus Gandhinagar on 16th July 2023.

Sri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship and HE Mr. Lorenzo WongSingapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister will address attendees and also congratulate SI Hackathon winners who will collaborate and compete to create solutions for climate change and financial inclusion.

Above 800 students, start-ups, investors, politicians, companies and academics they are expected to participate in the final at IIT Gandhinagar. The Singapore-India Hackathon 2023 Finals will see 12 teams of 2 Indian students and 2 Singaporean students each compete for generous prize money of up to INR 12 lakh.

The SI Hackathon was conceived following Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s request to Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Lawrence Wong, to bring together start-ups and students from India and Singapore to collaborate and create financial fraud solutions Detection, financial inclusion and credit provision, sea level rise and coastal flooding, food recycling optimization, carbon footprint monitoring and enhancing Singapore-India trade connectivity.

This first-of-its-kind Singapore-India Hackathon 2023 brought together academic institutions such as NTU Singapore and IIT Gandhinagar, as well as businesses and the public sector from both nations to mentor and prepare aspiring entrepreneurs to build start-ups that impact some of the the world’s most pressing global challenges of climate change and financial inclusion.
