Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve Leads Indian Delegation at Mining Indaba International Conclave

Mining Indaba is one of the most popular mining conclaves in the world which is held annually in Cape Town, South Africa. This year, a Government of India delegation participated in this Conclave under the leadership of Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, Minister of State for Mines, Coal & Railways. Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, Minister of Mining & Labour Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh also participated in the Conference. The delegation included officials from Ministries of Mines, Coal, Steel, and External Affairs and organizations/PSUs like GSI, AMD, HCL, NALCO, NMDC, CIL, SAIL, MOIL, MECL, NTPC, OMC.

At the conference venue, an Indian pavilion showcased the strength of Indian mining. On 6th February 2023, the Minister of Mines, Coal & Railways and Minister of Mining & Labour of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the pavilion called “Investment opportunities in India”. International delegates loved the design and content. During this event, the Ministry of Mines distributed a brochure highlighting its initiatives and reforms and a booklet on upcoming auctionable mineral blocks from various state governments.

Ministerial-level meetings with Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Congo, and Zambia occurred on the sidelines. There have been several interactions between Indian delegates and delegates from other countries. The High Commissioner of India in South Africa and the Consulate General of India in Cape Town participated in the program and supported the Government of India’s participation. Minister Shri Danve addressed the international audience on the 8th of February at Invest in India.
