MeitY Participates in Special Campaign 5.0 Focused on Cleanliness, Efficiency, and Resolving Pending Issues
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is launching Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance cleanliness in government offices, expedite the resolution of pending matters, and promote citizen-centric governance. Following a preparatory phase in September, MeitY has set specific targets to ensure the campaign’s success, aligning with the broader national movement for cleanliness and efficiency.
Preparatory Phase Initiatives
Before the official launch of Special Campaign 5.0, MeitY undertook a preparatory phase from September 16 to September 30, 2025. This phase involved several key actions to lay the groundwork for the campaign. The ministry identified nodal officers at various levels to spearhead the initiative. These officers will play a crucial role in driving the campaign’s objectives within their respective divisions and offices.
Additionally, MeitY conducted thorough inspections and reviews of record rooms to identify redundant physical and electronic records. This assessment aimed to determine which records could be disposed of or digitized, thereby streamlining operations. The ministry also prioritized pending references, including those from Members of Parliament, State Governments, and the Prime Minister’s Office, to ensure targeted disposal. Furthermore, efforts were made to identify e-waste, scrap, and other redundant items for disposal, alongside initiatives for space management and cleanliness drives across all MeitY offices.
