“We found this boy playing cards with other children instead of attending school,” he reported. “He was gambling when he should have been in his classroom learning.” Neel tried to defend himself by explaining his innocent role in the situation. “Mom, I want you to know that I was only watching the card game,” he insisted. “I didn’t actually participate in the gambling or play any cards myself.” He then made an emotional appeal for her trust and support. “Please believe me when I tell you that I didn’t do anything wrong,” he begged. “I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Mangal observed Sowmya’s hasty departure and became suspicious about her behavior. “Something is definitely going on in Sowmya’s mind,” she thought to herself. “Her sudden departure and that urgent phone call suggest she is planning something.”
