Maharashtra Showcases Film Potential at European Film Market 2026
The Maharashtra delegation, supported by the National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC) under India’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, made a significant mark at the European Film Market (EFM) 2026. Held concurrently with the Berlin International Film Festival, the EFM is recognized as one of the premier global platforms for film financing, distribution, and international collaborations.
This year’s event served as a dynamic space where leading producers, studios, and industry decision-makers from around the world converged. It provided an ideal environment for national showcases and strategic engagements, paving the way for meaningful collaborations and access to international markets.
India’s Cultural Outreach at EFM
The Maharashtra delegation, led by Mr. Ashish Shelar, Hon’ble Minister for IT & Cultural Affairs, aimed to highlight India’s rich creative heritage at the event. The delegation also featured industry experts such as filmmaker Mr. Manoj Kadam, emphasizing a well-rounded representation of Maharashtra’s film ecosystem.

This state-of-the-art integrated production hub is designed to support filmmakers with a range of facilities from studios to post-production services—all in one location.
The delegation also emphasized the increasing global footprint of Marathi cinema, which is gaining recognition on international festival circuits. Engaging with global audiences, the delegates discussed enhancing co-production opportunities, talent exchanges, and attracting film tourism.
