During the 26th Convocation of Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla called on the youth to embrace the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by actively creating job opportunities. He emphasized the vast potential of New India, urging young innovators to contribute to the nation’s development goals set for 2047.
Empowering the Next Generation
Shri Om Birla, serving as the Chief Guest at the convocation, highlighted the critical role of Indian youth in shaping the future. He noted that young people are already making significant contributions globally, showcasing their knowledge and skills in various fields. Birla stated that the prosperity of developed nations often stems from the efforts of Indian youth who have migrated there. He encouraged students to harness their talents and direct their energies toward making India a developed nation by 2047.
Birla’s remarks came at a time when India is witnessing a surge in opportunities across multiple sectors. He urged the youth not to look towards developed countries for inspiration but to focus on their capabilities to address global challenges. He believes that with their innovative spirit, Indian youth can lead the world in finding solutions to pressing issues. The Speaker emphasized the importance of dreaming big and working diligently to become active contributors to the nation’s prosperity.
Education as a Tool for Social Change
Shri Birla articulated that education should ultimately benefit the marginalized and the underprivileged in society. He stated that true educational success is measured by its impact on improving the lives of the less fortunate. He encouraged graduates to leverage their education to uplift those in need, reinforcing the idea that the youth hold the key to a brighter future for all.
Reflecting on India’s democratic journey over the past 75 years, Birla expressed pride in the nation’s achievements. He noted that India’s democratic model serves as an inspiration for other countries, emphasizing the global community’s growing interest in India’s democratic values. He urged the youth to take pride in this legacy and to continue promoting democratic principles worldwide.
Honoring Maharashtra’s Rich Heritage
In his address, Shri Birla paid tribute to Maharashtra’s historical significance, recognizing it as a land of social and spiritual revolutions. He mentioned influential figures such as Veer Shivaji, Jyotiba Phule, and Savitribai Phule, who have shaped India’s history and continue to inspire future generations. Their contributions, he noted, are vital to understanding the fabric of Indian society today.
As part of the convocation ceremony, Shri Birla distributed certificates and awards to the successful graduates of Bharati Vidyapeeth, celebrating their achievements and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
