Munition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, Yard 126 (LSAM 16) was launched by Cmde Sunil Kaushik, Warship Production Superintendent (Mumbai) on 19 July 23 at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane. With all major and ancillary equipment/systems sourced from local manufacturers, this barge is the proud flagship of the MoD’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The contract for the construction of 11 x ACTCM Barge has been concluded with M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, a MSME, in consonance with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives of the Government of India. This barge was built with a 30 year service life. The availability of the ACTCM barges will boost the operational commitments of IN facilitating Transportation, Embarkation and Disembarkation of items/ammunition a IN Ships both along the docks and in outer ports.
The launching and delivery of two ammunition barges to the Indian Navy in the past two months (June and 23 July) by two MSME Shipyards – M/s SECON and M/s Suryadipta located on the east and west coast of the country showed The commitment of the Indian Navy to support and strengthen the MSME industry Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative of the Government of India.
