Korea’s President Lee Embarks on Historic Visit to India

As part of their forward-looking agenda, the two nations unveiled plans for the India-Korea Digital Bridge, focused on collaboration in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and information technology. Multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed across sectors including shipbuilding, sustainability, steel, and port management, symbolizing a holistic approach to cooperation.
The discussions also touched on cultural exchanges, with shared heritage dating back thousands of years. The legacy of Princess Suriratna and King Kim Suro exemplifies the deep-rooted ties between the two countries. In contemporary culture, K-pop and K-dramas have found a strong following in India, while Indian cinema is gaining recognition in Korea. To celebrate this cultural connection, President Lee announced plans for an India-Korea Friendship Festival to be held in 2028.

In light of global tensions, the partnership between India and Korea also aims to serve as a beacon of peace and stability. Korea’s commitment to join the International Solar Alliance and the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative is a critical step towards collective efforts for a more peaceful and inclusive region.
Both nations underscored the need for reforms in global institutions to better address contemporary challenges, reinforcing their commitment to work together for progress.
