Khyati Madaan Launches Production Company with Bold Film Slate

Khyati Madaan, a prominent figure in film marketing, is making her mark as a producer with the launch of Not Out Entertainment. After a decade of experience with major studios like Red Chillies Entertainment and Maddock Films, Madaan is set to produce three diverse films, including a sequel to a successful musical thriller and a unique genre-bending project. Her aim is to create stories that resonate with audiences and revive overlooked genres in Bollywood.

From Marketing to Production: Khyati’s Journey

Khyati Madaan has transitioned from a successful career in film marketing to producing, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey. With a background that includes working on campaigns for over 50 films such as Dear Zindagi and Raees, she has established herself as a knowledgeable force in the industry. Madaan, an alumna of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), gained early recognition in 2011 for her innovative box-office prediction model, which accurately forecasted the performance of 32 films with 95% accuracy. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the rarity of producers without industry connections in Bollywood. In her new role, Madaan aims to address the disconnect between films and audience preferences. She stated, โ€œBollywood is at an interesting crossroads. Despite having more access to audience feedback and data than ever before, many films are still failing to connect at the box office.โ€ Her vision is to democratize storytelling in Bollywood, focusing on genres that resonate with viewers and reviving those that have been overlooked.

Not Out Entertainment’s Exciting Film Slate

Not Out Entertainment’s inaugural lineup reflects Khyati Madaan’s commitment to producing diverse and engaging content. The first project is a sequel to a hit musical thriller that has recently completed filming and is set for a theatrical release this summer. While specific details about the film are still under wraps, anticipation is building among fans of the original. Additionally, Madaan has partnered with acclaimed writer-director Habib Faisal, known for his work on Do Dooni Chaar and Ishaqzaade. Faisal will direct a slice-of-life drama set in Delhi, reminiscent of his previous films. The project promises to feature National Award-winning actors, with further announcements regarding the title and cast expected soon.

Innovative Concepts and Future Projects

Another intriguing project in Madaan’s debut slate is Abhootpurva, a film that blends tragic romance with horror-comedy, which she humorously refers to as a โ€œRom-Hor-Com.โ€ Set in the nostalgic backdrop of 1990s Agra, this film aims to capture the essence of old-school romance while offering a fresh twist. Production is anticipated to begin later this year, with details about the cast and crew yet to be disclosed. Beyond these three films, Not Out Entertainment is actively casting for two additional projects, including a controversial biopic and a genre-bending mass entertainer. The company is also venturing into sports content, with plans to develop an innovative cricket show that promises to provide a new perspective on the sport. Khyati Madaan’s entry into film production marks an exciting development in Bollywood, as she seeks to create films that not only entertain but also connect deeply with audiences.
