Cabinet Secretary of Defence, Kenya, Aden Bare Duale arrived in New Delhi on 28 August 2023 for a three day visit to India. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will have an interview with his Kenyan counterpart on 29 August. The visiting dignitary is expected to visit Indian shipyards and defense industries in Goa and Bangalore during his stay.
This is Cabinet Secretary Duale’s first visit to India and the highest-level independent political visit from Kenya since the new government took office in September 2022. The visit is indicative of the importance India attaches to its relations with African nations and the growing cooperation between India and Kenya, in particular. It is expected to open new avenues to further enhance defense cooperation between the two countries.
