She points out that Rishi was already engaged to Aditi before any of this happened. Parashar isn’t buying it though—he sees betrayal written all over Rishi and his family’s actions. But Jhanak won’t let him continue down that path. “You’re wrong about this,” she tells him, suggesting they should just go home and leave this behind.
That’s when Dadabhai intervenes with his own perspective. He explains that both Rishi and Jhanak made adult decisions about not staying together, and honestly, who’s going to challenge that? He makes it clear he feels responsible for Jhanak’s future. Then he drops a bombshell on Aniruddh—it was Jhanak’s honesty that saved Rishi’s job, not anyone’s connections or influence. His solution? Jhanak stays in his home while preparing for the NEET exam. He argues passionately that Kolkata offers opportunities Simulboni simply can’t match.
Putul jumps in to support this plan, praising Jhanak’s intelligence and predicting she’ll definitely secure a scholarship. She practically pleads with Parashar to let Jhanak stay in the city. But Parashar dismisses the whole discussion as pointless at this stage.
When Signatures Become Weapons
The conversation takes a sharp turn when Rishi confronts Jhanak about those papers—did she really sign them willingly? Her silent nod speaks volumes. But wait, how did she even get these documents?
Aniruddh reveals he arranged everything after Jhanak approached him for help. This revelation hits Rishi hard. “I never signed any papers,” he protests, clearly caught off guard. Mangal backs up the narrative that Rishi never truly accepted Jhanak as his wife. And here’s where it gets interesting—Jhanak confirms she never accepted him as her husband either. When Parashar raises concerns about how she’ll handle the villagers’ judgment, Dadabhai suggests a compromise: Let her achieve her dreams first, then return to Simulboni if needed.
The discussion continues with Putul emphasizing Jhanak’s youth and need for education. But Aditi throws in a curveball, questioning why Dadabhai wants to bring Jhanak into their home at all.
Things escalate dramatically when Rishi accuses Aniruddh of forgery—a serious crime that could’ve landed him in major legal trouble. Aniruddh, completely unfazed, basically dares Rishi to prove in court that the signature isn’t his. The tension becomes unbearable until Jhanak interrupts, offering to stay only if everyone stops arguing about this. She makes a direct promise to Aditi: she’ll leave as soon as she gets into college. “Don’t worry,” she assures her, “I signed those papers myself.”
The family dynamics explode when Putul accuses Aniruddh of sacrificing one daughter’s happiness for another. Aniruddh’s defensive response that Jhanak isn’t his daughter triggers something deep in Jhanak. Her words cut like ice: “You don’t deserve to be my father anyway. I’ll never accept you as one.” She declares that Parashar deserves that title instead. This pushes Parashar over the edge—he actually tries to attack Aniruddh before Rishi and Dadabhai manage to hold him back. Jhanak calms the situation, promising she’ll work hard to secure her college admission.
The Marriage That’s Breaking Apart
The car ride home becomes a battlefield for Rishi and Aditi’s crumbling relationship. Rishi attempts damage control, asking Aditi not to misunderstand his intentions. But she’s having none of it.
“Oh, I understand you perfectly,” Aditi responds, her voice dripping with hurt. She accuses him of unethical behavior while expecting her to just accept it. Then comes the gut punch: “I think I’ve ruined my life by marrying you.”
Rishi stops the car—this conversation just got too heavy to have while driving. Aditi throws out the divorce card, asking if that’s what he wants. He fires back that she thinks he’s characterless. He tries explaining his recent visit to Simulboni, describing the villagers’ living conditions and his protective feelings toward them.
But Aditi sees right through this. “If you care so much, why didn’t you accept your marriage to Jhanak?” She calls him out for acting like Jhanak’s his wife despite all his denials. Rishi, pushed to his limit, tells her she should leave if that’s really what she believes about him.
The tears start flowing. Rishi claims he’s being punished for crimes he didn’t commit. Aditi reminds him of their wedding night—how he left to meet Jhanak instead of staying with his new bride. “That was wrong,” she says, acknowledging her own mistake in marrying him.
“I thought you loved me,” Rishi says, sounding genuinely confused.
“You’re hurting me,” Aditi responds simply.
Rishi keeps trying to explain himself. Jhanak did so much for him; doesn’t he have the right to help her get an education? Can’t he do even that much? Aditi admits she doesn’t understand anything anymore. His final plea for her trust hangs in the air, unanswered.

Back at Dadabhai’s place, Jhanak questions his generosity. Why go to such lengths for her? His response is simple yet profound—everything he’s doing is for her wellbeing, and she needs to trust that.
Jhanak draws a line in the sand about one thing: She can handle insults directed at her, but nobody gets to badmouth Nutan. Nobody. Dadabhai’s advice? Fight for yourself. Stand up and claim your place. Putul adds her own encouragement, promising that respect and love will come.
