IREDA Rings in 2026 with Commitment to Growth and Team Spirit

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) celebrated the New Year 2026 with a spirited gathering at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on January 1. The event, filled with optimism and unity, was an opportunity for IREDA employees to embrace the new year and reaffirm their commitment to building a better future.

Among the distinguished guests were Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Shri J.V.N. Subramanyam, Joint Secretary at MNRE, alongside IREDA’s Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, and other senior officials. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration and the agency’s mission in the renewable energy sector.

Fostering Leadership and Supporting Growth

In his address, Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi highlighted the critical role of teamwork and the importance of nurturing young talent to become future leaders. He pointed out IREDA’s expanding responsibilities and the necessity for enhanced financial support to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under flagship initiatives, including the PM Surya Ghar scheme. Sarangi assured the agency of MNRE’s continued support during its growth journey.

Shri Pradip Kumar Das welcomed the dignitaries and shared warm New Year wishes with all employees. He proudly noted that IREDA’s staff has grown significantly, from 168 employees in early 2025 to 227 in 2026. Notably, women now make up approximately 23% of the workforce, a remarkable figure compared to the average of 9.5% for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). This growth, he attributed, results from IREDA’s commitment to strong corporate governance and financial discipline.

Strong Financial Performance and Future Goals

Das also shared IREDA’s impressive financial statistics, with cumulative loan sanctions reaching ₹2,78,016 crore and disbursements totaling ₹1,80,988 crore as of December 31, 2025 (provisional). The agency achieved its highest-ever annual Profit After Tax of ₹1,699 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25 and received an upgraded international credit rating from S&P Global Ratings.

In his closing remarks, the Director of Finance expressed gratitude to the employees for their dedication and teamwork. He encouraged everyone to maintain high standards of governance and efficiency as they move forward into the new year.
