T Natarajan: A Key Player Yet to Debut
T Natarajan, signed by Delhi Capitals for Rs 10.75 crore, was a standout bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous season, where he led the team in wickets. Despite his strong track record, Natarajan has yet to make an appearance in IPL 2025. The current bowling lineup for Delhi, featuring Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar, and Mohit Sharma, has been performing well, which may explain his absence. Although Natarajan’s experience, with 67 wickets in 61 IPL matches, should be an asset, he is reportedly not at full fitness yet. Jacob Bethell, the rising all-rounder from England, was purchased by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 2.6 crore after a breakout year with the national team. Despite his potential, Bethell has not yet played this season, as RCB has relied on other overseas players like Liam Livingstone and Romario Shepherd. Despite being part of the KKR setup for two seasons, he has been overshadowed by Quinton de Kock, who has performed consistently, including a top score of 97. With KKR struggling in the lower half of the table, the management may hesitate to disrupt the current combination. Unless De Kock’s performance declines or the team reshuffles, Gurbaz’s chances of playing appear limited this season.
