iPhone Users Can Now Manage Dual WhatsApp Accounts Within a Single App

WhatsApp has introduced an exciting new feature for iPhone users, allowing them to manage two accounts within a single app. This update aims to streamline communication by enabling users to separate their personal and professional conversations without the need for additional devices or apps. Each account operates independently, providing users with enhanced control over their messaging experience.

WhatsApp Multi-Account Setup on iOS

The new multi-account feature is currently available through the latest beta update for iOS (version 25.34.10.72). Users participating in the beta program can easily add a second account via the settings menu. WhatsApp offers several methods for setting up the second account, including linking an existing account, registering a new phone number, or scanning a QR code. The QR code option allows for seamless syncing for users who already have WhatsApp installed on another device.

Each account maintains its own chat history, backup options, notification settings, privacy controls, and media preferences. This structure ensures that actions taken on one account do not affect the other. Notifications are designed to clearly indicate which account has received a message, helping users keep their personal and work conversations distinct. WhatsApp has also implemented multiple ways to switch between accounts, including viewing the full Account List, pressing and holding the Settings tab, or double-tapping to switch quickly. The App Lock feature remains active across both profiles, requiring Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode to access protected accounts, thereby ensuring the security of sensitive conversations.

Users can easily remove an account through the Account section whenever necessary. WhatsApp also retains previously used numbers, allowing users to sign back in from the Add Account option without having to go through the entire setup process again. Currently, this multi-account feature is limited to select beta testers, but WhatsApp plans to gradually expand its availability to a wider audience.

Update to the “About” Feature

In addition to the multi-account feature, WhatsApp has revamped its “About” text feature, making it more accessible and visually appealing. The platform has repositioned this option to enhance the visibility of short updates, drawing inspiration from the brief notes format popularized by Instagram. WhatsApp stated that this feature, which dates back to the early days of the service, has been renewed to facilitate quicker and more prominent sharing of status messages among users. This update reflects WhatsApp’s ongoing commitment to improving user experience by making communication more efficient and engaging. The changes aim to encourage users to share their thoughts and updates more frequently, fostering a more connected community on the platform. As WhatsApp continues to evolve, users can expect further enhancements that prioritize convenience and usability in their messaging experience.
