Infosys Launches Major Recruitment Drive for Experienced Professionals

Infosys, the renowned software company founded by Narayana Murthy, is ramping up its hiring efforts by seeking experienced professionals across over 40 specialized skill sets. The company is looking for candidates with at least two years of experience in fields such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, Java, Python, .NET, Android/iOS development, and automation testing. This recruitment initiative aligns with Infosys’s annual lateral hiring strategy, as reported by ET.
Recruitment Strategy and Locations
The recruitment drive is part of Infosys’s broader strategy to fill critical roles within the organization. Internal communications have been circulated, allowing potential applicants to indicate their preferred interview locations and desired work cities. This approach aims to streamline the hiring process and cater to the needs of both the company and the candidates.
In previous years, Infosys conducted similar recruitment initiatives, including walk-in interviews at its development centers in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Approximately three years ago, the company also held online recruitment sessions in Bengaluru as the city began to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Infosys has not disclosed the specific number of new hires targeted for this current recruitment drive.
Addressing Staffing Needs
The latest recruitment campaign is designed to address staffing gaps caused by attrition and to meet the demands of existing and new projects. Sources indicate that there is a growing need for additional staff, particularly for smaller projects. This hiring initiative follows the recent distribution of around 600 offer letters to engineering students from institutions near Karnataka’s Dharwad district, aimed at enhancing operations at the Hubballi development center. Infosys’s recruitment plans also include hiring 20,000 fresh graduates in the upcoming financial year. However, the company has not clarified how many of these positions will be filled by experienced professionals versus fresh graduates. Currently, Infosys employs approximately 323,000 individuals.
Local Recruitment Initiatives
To bolster its workforce, Infosys is focusing on recruiting skilled graduates from nearby educational institutions. This local recruitment initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance operations at its Hubballi development center. The company previously implemented a transfer policy that incentivizes existing employees from other locations to relocate to Hubballi, further supporting its expansion efforts. By tapping into local talent, Infosys aims to strengthen its operational capabilities while providing opportunities for graduates in the region. This approach not only addresses immediate staffing needs but also fosters community engagement and supports local economies.
