Industry Leaders Collaborate on Entity Locker Initiative

A consultation meeting aimed at gathering insights for the Entity Locker project took place on March 6, 2025, at Electronics Niketan. Chaired by Shri Nand Kumarum, President & CEO of the National E-Governance Mission, the meeting brought together senior officials from various industry bodies and government organizations. The primary objective was to discuss the platform’s features and encourage its adoption among businesses.
Engaging Stakeholders for Enhanced Functionality
The meeting featured representatives from prominent organizations, including FICCI, CII, and NASSCOM, as well as government entities like the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Participants were briefed on the operational flow of Entity Locker and were encouraged to promote its use within their networks. The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) actively sought feedback on additional features that could enhance user experience and streamline onboarding processes for various entities, including private sector players.
Shri Nand Kumarum highlighted the importance of developing relevant use cases for document interactions specific to each organization. He emphasized that Entity Locker offers secure data storage for critical business documents, thereby facilitating an improved ‘Ease of Doing Business.’ The governmentโs provision of 10 GB of free storage serves as a significant incentive for organizations to onboard themselves and their partners onto the platform.
Addressing Concerns and Challenges
During the meeting, participants raised several questions regarding the platform’s functionalities, including document visibility, sharing access, API integration, and user grouping options. Concerns were also expressed about the verification protocols for Aadhaar and other licenses. The NeGD team took note of these issues, assuring participants that their feedback would be addressed in future updates to the platform.
All challenges related to onboarding and integration requirements were documented, and the NeGD team committed to resolving these issues once feedback from the participating members is received. This collaborative approach aims to ensure that Entity Locker meets the diverse needs of its users effectively.
