IndiGo Travel Disruptions: A Guide to Claiming Compensation Vouchers
Aviation giant IndiGo has introduced its ‘Gesture of Care’ (GoC) package aimed at assisting passengers affected by recent flight delays and cancellations. This initiative follows significant operational disruptions that occurred in early December, impacting thousands of travelers. The airline’s commitment to customer care is evident in this new program, which offers compensation to those who faced severe inconveniences during this period.
Details of the Gesture of Care Package
The GoC package is specifically designed for passengers whose flights were disrupted between noon on December 3 and the end of December 5, 2025. To qualify, flights must have experienced delays or cancellations within four hours of the scheduled departure, resulting in delays that exceeded three hours. Eligible passengers will receive a travel voucher worth INR 10,000, divided into two vouchers of INR 5,000 each. This initiative also extends to minors and infants, with parents or guardians able to claim the vouchers on their behalf. IndiGo emphasizes that caring for customers is a top priority, and this package reflects their dedication to supporting those affected by the operational challenges.
Eligibility Criteria for Compensation
To determine eligibility for the GoC package, passengers must have been impacted by the aforementioned disruptions. The airline has outlined specific criteria: flights must have been delayed or canceled within the designated timeframe, and the delays must have been significant. This means that if a passenger’s flight was delayed by more than three hours or canceled altogether, they are entitled to the compensation. The airline aims to ensure that all affected travelers, including families traveling with children, receive the support they need during this challenging time.
How to Claim Your Compensation Voucher
Claiming the compensation voucher is a straightforward process. Eligible passengers will receive an email containing a secure link to access their vouchers. For those who have not registered their email addresses with IndiGo, the vouchers will be sent within 24 hours after registration. Each eligible customer will receive two vouchers, totaling INR 10,000, which can be used for future travel or additional services. The vouchers are non-transferable and tied to the individual passenger’s name, ensuring that each traveler can benefit from the compensation.
Usage and Validity of Vouchers
The travel vouchers issued under the GoC program are valid for twelve months from the date of issuance. Passengers can use them to book flights at any time during this period, even for travel scheduled beyond the validity date. Additionally, the vouchers can be redeemed for various services, such as pre-booked meals, seat selection, and excess baggage, provided the bookings are made through IndiGo’s official website. Importantly, there are no restrictions on fare class, blackout dates, or booking types, allowing passengers flexibility in how they utilize their compensation.
