Indian Navy’s Training Squadron Docks in Indonesia
The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS), consisting of INS Tir, INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and ICGS Sarathi, has made an official port call at Belawan, Indonesia, on January 20, 2026. This visit was warmly celebrated by the Indonesian Navy, who marked the occasion with a ceremonial reception that included traditional dance performances. The squadron is currently engaged in a training deployment across Southeast Asia.
During this significant port call, personnel from both the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy are set to participate in a variety of professional and social exchanges. These activities will include cross-deck visits and joint training exercises aimed at boosting interoperability and strengthening maritime cooperation between the two nations.
