India Unveils Draft Pesticides Management Bill for Farmers
The Government of India has introduced a new draft Pesticides Management Bill, 2025, aiming to modernize the country’s pesticide regulation framework. This initiative is set to replace the outdated Insecticides Act of 1968 and the Insecticides Rules of 1971, aligning the legislation with contemporary needs and concerns of farmers.
The proposed Pesticides Management Bill, 2025 places a strong emphasis on the welfare of farmers by introducing several key features. Comments and suggestions are welcomed via email until February 4, 2026, allowing ample time for input.
