India Launches Skill Development Campaign with Amitabh Bachchan

In a significant initiative to enhance India’s digital skilling ecosystem, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, the Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, along with his role as Minister of State for Education, unveiled a nationwide campaign entitled ‘Badhna Hai Toh Yahan Judna Hai’ at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The campaign is designed to drive awareness and participation in the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), a platform that aims to empower citizens through skilling, employment opportunities, and continuous learning.

The campaign features the iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan, whose immense popularity is expected to further amplify public engagement in SIDH, which has already registered over 1.5 crore candidates, thus establishing itself as one of the nation’s largest digital skilling platforms. As India forges ahead towards a Viksit Bharat, SIDH plays a crucial role in helping individuals adapt to the fast-evolving fields of artificial intelligence and automation.

During the launch, Shri Jayant Chaudhary remarked, “India’s digital strength has been globally recognized through transformative initiatives such as India Stack, and now the Skill India Digital Hub. These platforms have expanded access to public services and skill development at an unprecedented scale. SIDH exemplifies how digital public infrastructure can power lifelong learning and create real economic opportunity, especially in an era defined by AI and automation. Through ‘Badhna Hai Toh Yahan Judna Hai’, we are inviting every Indian to connect with this ecosystem and take the next step in their growth journey.”

Empowering Citizens Through Technology

SIDH is designed as a mobile-first, AI-driven platform that integrates various government-based skilling initiatives. It offers a range of industry-relevant courses and provides personalized recommendations tailored to individual interests and career aspirations. Additionally, the platform features a central learning hub with learning management systems (LMS), digitally verified credentials, personalized digital CVs, and supports Aadhaar-based eKYC registration, all available in more than 21 Indian languages.

Inclusive Access for All

This innovative platform caters to a broad audience, including students mapping their career paths, graduates entering the job market, professionals seeking to upgrade their skills, and entrepreneurs looking for structured support. By consolidating fragmented resources, SIDH aims to eliminate barriers related to access, information, language, and credibility, thereby democratizing opportunities across diverse demographics.

Campaign Rollout and Vision

The ‘Badhna Hai Toh Yahan Judna Hai’ campaign will be promoted across various digital platforms, social media channels, mobile applications, and through QR-enabled touchpoints to facilitate easy and instant registration. The campaign visuals aim to represent India’s diversity, showcasing youth, women, professionals, entrepreneurs, and differently-abled individuals, reinforcing the idea that growth and opportunity are available to everyone.

Rooted in the vision of Lifelong Learning for Prosperity, SIDH embodies the government’s commitment to cultivating a future-ready workforce and solidifying India’s status as a global hub for skills development.
