India Launches BHAVYA Scheme for 100 New Industrial Parks

The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), part of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has announced the launch of the BHAVYA scheme. This initiative aims to establish 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across India as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). The new parks are designed to streamline the industrial setup process, providing pre-approved land and ready infrastructure for businesses.

Facilitating Ease of Business

The BHAVYA scheme emphasizes the importance of ease of doing business by incorporating features like single-window systems for approvals, facilitating faster establishment of industries. Each industrial park will come equipped with comprehensive infrastructure and integrated services, ensuring that businesses can operate without unnecessary delays typically associated with land acquisition and setup.

Alignment with National Plans

This initiative aligns closely with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, which aims to enhance multimodal connectivity and ensure efficient last-mile access for these industrial parks. Infrastructure planning under the BHAVYA scheme will include essential components like underground utilities to create a reliable environment for industrial operations.

Building on Existing Strengths

The BHAVYA scheme leverages the NICDC’s extensive experience in developing industrial corridors and smart cities. This initiative is set to enhance industrial infrastructure across various regions and promote balanced, sustainable industrial growth. Currently, NICDC is active in 20 projects spanning 13 states, focusing on transforming areas into greenfield industrial smart cities to foster manufacturing competitiveness, attract investments, and generate job opportunities.

Innovative Industrial Nodes

Industrial nodes developed by NICDC include Dholera, Shendra-Bidkin, Vikram Udyogpuri, and Greater Noida. These sites have shown significant progress in integrated planning and infrastructure development, creating investor-ready ecosystems that have already piqued the interest of both MSMEs and large manufacturers. The industrial parks are designed with plug-and-play readiness, ensuring that businesses can quickly initiate operations.

Sustainable Development Practices

NICDC’s approach to developing industrial smart cities involves a strong focus on sustainability. Projects integrate features like green energy sources and systems for water reuse, promoting environmental responsibility while enhancing industrial efficiency. As a result, demand for industrial land in these parks continues to be robust, with many investors eager to capitalize on the opportunities presented by these developments.
