India Launches AI Responsibility Campaign for Record Pledges

As India gears up for the inaugural India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has announced a groundbreaking initiative. Collaborating with Intel India, the government will launch a campaign on February 16, 2026, aimed at achieving the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSâ„¢ title for the “Most pledges received for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours.” This initiative seeks to encourage citizens nationwide to commit to the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

The campaign reinforces India’s goal of creating a trustworthy and human-centric AI ecosystem. Participants can make their pledges through a dedicated digital platform, accessible at http://aipledge.indiaai.gov.in/. The platform is designed to be interactive and awareness-driven, featuring scenario-based questions that prompt participants to reflect on responsible AI practices before finalizing their pledge.

Individuals who complete the pledge will receive a digital badge, jointly issued by IndiaAI and Intel India, as well as access to curated AI learning pathways provided by the government. The campaign has been thoughtfully structured to ensure accessibility for everyone, regardless of region or demographic. Participation does not require microphone or camera access, nor are there any major qualifying marks or eligibility barriers.

How to Participate

Participation in the AI Responsibility Pledge campaign is simple and encourages widespread involvement:

  • Visit the official pledge portal
  • Complete a quick registration process
  • Verify participation via OTP sent to your email or phone number
  • Engage with short scenario-based awareness questions
  • Submit the formal AI Responsibility Pledge

Students, educators, parents, government officials, industry professionals, startups, and citizens from various backgrounds are all encouraged to join in. The initiative is particularly aimed at engaging the youth, promoting awareness surrounding responsible AI use, data privacy, accountability, and the battle against misinformation.

The AI Responsibility Pledge forms a critical part of the broader India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16 to 20, 2026. The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and will feature heads of state, global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, researchers, and representatives from academia and civil society. They will gather to discuss how AI can be leveraged for inclusive and development-oriented progress.
