India Energy Week 2026 Set to Energize Global Dialogue in Goa
India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 will take center stage in Goa from January 27 to 30, 2026, featuring a convergence of global energy leaders, policymakers, and industry experts. This premier event aims to address critical issues surrounding energy security, investment opportunities, and pathways toward decarbonisation at a pivotal moment for the international energy landscape.
As the inaugural major international energy forum of the year, IEW 2026 is expected to attract participants from over 120 countries, building on the substantial participation of over 68,000 attendees, 570 exhibitors, and 5,400 conference delegates witnessed in 2025. With a comprehensive agenda that includes 100 conference sessions featuring more than 540 speakers, this year’s gathering is poised to further elevate its status among the world’s leading platforms for energy dialogue.
A Platform for International Cooperation
Organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and collaboratively managed by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and dmg events, IEW 2026 offers a neutral ground for discussions on energy security and sustainability. Delegates from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region are anticipated to partake, underscoring the growing relevance of India Energy Week in global energy diplomacy.
According to the International Energy Agency, by 2050, India is projected to contribute over 23 percent of global incremental energy demand, making this event a crucial meeting point for policymakers and industry leaders to strategize on resilient energy systems and the clean energy transition.
Showcasing India’s Energy Reforms
IEW 2026 will highlight India’s reform-driven energy framework, which balances economic growth with climate responsibilities. Legislative changes, including the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act 2025, have strengthened the upstream sector, streamlining procedures and enhancing long-term lease stability.
The event will also emphasize India’s successful ethanol blending program, which has not only saved foreign exchange but has significantly reduced CO₂ emissions and elevated agricultural income through direct payments to farmers.
Strengthening Energy Infrastructure and Security
As part of its commitment to energy security, India has enhanced domestic exploration and infrastructure, increasing the number of petrol retail outlets and expanding the natural gas pipeline network. The growth in CNG stations and household connections for PNG underscores the nation’s efforts to secure reliable energy sources. Notably, amidst global energy price fluctuations, India has upheld price stability for consumers, with strategic cuts to central excise duties ensuring that petrol and diesel remain affordable compared to prices from previous years.
Spanning four days, IEW 2026 will feature ministerial roundtables, CEO dialogues, and engaging public-private sector interactions. Exciting topics will include hydrogen economies, sustainable finance, and emerging low-carbon technologies. The event will also host an expansive exhibition featuring hundreds of companies representing the full spectrum of the energy value chain.
