Inauguration of Product Design Centre and Launch of Grain-Ex system for appearance based e-Quality detection system developed under MeitY supported projects

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Assistant Secretary Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar inaugurated the Product Design Center (PDC), established at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata. The center has systems design and prototyping facilities equipped with all software and printing technologies for system design, prototyping, ideation and manufacturing.

This facility will be beneficial to startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs from the eastern region of the country. A detection system based on appearance Meaning what. On this occasion, Grain-Ex was also launched through the artificial vision technology for legumes developed under the “National Program on Applications of Electronics and ICT in Agriculture and the Environment (AgriEnIcs)” together with ICAR-IARI, New delhi. The appearance-based e-Quality detection system for 14 types of pulses (Grain-Ex) would bring about a transformative change in the e-NAM markets for quality-based pricing. This will be useful for over 1,200 e-NAM connected marketplaces.

The inauguration and launch were made in the presence of Smt Sunita Verma, Group Coordinator, MeitY; Shri Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director, C-DAC, Calcutta; Dr Om Krishan Singh, Scientist ‘D’, MeitY; other industry partners, project team members and other respected dignitaries representing various users and line ministries.
