INAUGURATION OF 600 RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION AT NAVAL BASE KARWAR BY CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF

Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff, visited Karwar Naval Base Aug. 21 23. During the visit, CNS inaugurated two residential buildings comprising 600 apartments at Amadhali and Arga Naval Base each in the presence of a large number of families of naval personnel and defense civilians.

The 10 residential towers have been equipped with modern amenities, upgraded interiors, landscaping and exterior services in accordance with IGBC Gold Rating. These infrastructure developments are part of the ongoing Phase IIA of Project Seabird which will house approximately 10,000 uniformed and civilian personnel with families.

The ongoing construction has created numerous direct and indirect jobs. The project aligns with ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharatinitiative of the Indian government, which purchases over 90% of the material domestically.

The CNS commended Project Seabird’s effort in establishing high-quality defense infrastructure and urged rapid completion of the remaining facilities.
