IIT Patna Partners with Government to Train Minority Youth

In a pivotal move to boost skill development among minority communities, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has officially partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the PM VIKAS (Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan) Scheme. The MoU was exchanged amidst a gathering of officials, including Ms. Neha Giri, Director of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and Prof. T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna.

Training Future Leaders in High-Demand Fields

This strategic partnership aims to equip 600 minority youth from Bihar with essential skills needed for emerging job roles, particularly in artificial intelligence and business analytics. The training program is meticulously designed to align with the fast-paced changes in the job market, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to meet industry demands.

Enhancing Employability of Minority Youth

The initiative is set to enhance the employability of minority individuals by providing them with modern, technology-driven skills. This endeavor reflects the core mission of the PM VIKAS Scheme, which is to close the skill gap and create sustainable employment opportunities through cutting-edge training techniques.

Quality Training through Collaboration

By collaborating with a leading institution like IIT Patna, the Ministry of Minority Affairs aims to offer high-quality training coupled with invaluable industry exposure. This approach is designed to improve career outcomes for the youths involved, contributing significantly to inclusive growth and empowerment in the community.

Expanding Skill Development Efforts

This MoU is part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to skill development under the PM VIKAS Scheme. Just last week, similar agreements were reached with other distinguished institutions, including IIT Dharwad, National Institute of Technology Manipur, CSIR–Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute in Durgapur, and Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Ltd. These collaborations are pivotal as they extend the Ministry’s network, enabling the delivery of high-quality, industry-oriented skill development programs.
