IICA to Host North-East Conclave 2025 in Shillong on July 11-12
The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) is gearing up to host the IICA North-East Conclave 2025 on July 11-12, 2025, at the IIM Shillong Campus. This two-day event, themed “From Ideation to Incorporation,” aims to foster the startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the North-Eastern region of India. The inaugural ceremony will commence at 9:30 AM, featuring prominent dignitaries, including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.
Event Objectives and Significance
The IICA North-East Conclave is designed to serve as a catalyst for innovation, incubation, and enterprise development. It will facilitate strategic policy discussions and institutional partnerships while providing access to capital for startups. The event aims to create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs in the region, helping them navigate the complexities of starting and growing a business. Foundation Stone Laying and Strategic Partnerships
A significant highlight of the Conclave will be the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the IICA North-East Regional Campus in Shillong, officiated by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This initiative marks a crucial step toward enhancing policy education, governance training, and entrepreneurial support infrastructure in the region.
Moreover, IICA will formalize regional collaboration by signing seven strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key institutions, including the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute, IIM Shillong, and various professional institutes. These partnerships aim to facilitate capacity building, compliance training, and knowledge exchange, further strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the North-East.
Startup Exhibition and Future Prospects
The Conclave will also feature a Startup Exhibition, showcasing 39 startups, financial institutions, and incubators from across the North-East. This exhibition will serve as a platform for regional innovation, allowing startups to connect with investors and ecosystem enablers.
