IICA conducts 3-day training programme on ‘Leadership Skills for Government Officers’ of Directorate General of Civil Aviation

The Indian Institute of Corporate Officers (IICA), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Corporate Officers, Government of India, has organized a 3-day training program starting today (25 May 2023 to 27 May 2023) on “Leadership Skills” for senior officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India, through its School of Business Environment.

The training program aimed to drive excellence and develop leadership through the development of professional skills covering vital aspects of human behavioral cognition. The inaugural session of the program was addressed by Shri Praveen Kumar, Director General & CEO-IICA, and Shri Manish Kumar, Joint Director General, DGCA, emphasizing the importance of leadership training programs for government officials and business professionals. The importance of building resilience, and integrating emotional intelligence and empathy were focused on setting the pace for the 3 day training program.

Eminent subject matter experts are engaged for each day’s session aligning leadership towards sustainability and responsible governance. On the first day of the training program, Mr. Suneel Keswani emphasized the key aspects of lifelong learning in order to lead from the best to the best. The next two days program will be taught by Ms. Deepa Bhatia, Ms. Neel Sodhi, Ms. Anshu Anand and Dr. Jaideep Singh emphasizing the importance of effective communication, collaborative working, effective team building and management of stress.

Dr. RP Kashyap, Director (Training), DGCA, and Dr. Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor and Director, the School of Business Environment, IICA, highlighted that the training program for senior officers and directors of the DGCA should act as a catalyst for the participants to create and sustain more leaders by instilling momentum towards nation building.
