IFS Officer Trainees of 2022 Batch call on PM

Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Batch 2022 trainee officers paid a visit to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at 7 am Lok Kalyan Marg today.

The Prime Minister engaged in extensive interaction with the trainee officers and asked them about their experience up to that point, after joining government service. The trainee officers shared their learnings throughout the course of their training including village visit, Bharat darshan and attachment to the armed forces. They also briefed the Chief Minister on the transformative impact of many government welfare schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission and Chief Minister Awas Yojna which they witnessed first hand.

The Prime Minister spoke of the government’s focus on achieving saturation of welfare regimes and how this has led to reaching every needy person without any discrimination. He urged trainee officers to study the implementation and success of the aspirational district program as this understanding can assist in assisting countries in the Global South on their development trajectory.

The prime minister also discussed India’s G20 presidency and asked junior officers about their experience of attending G20 meetings. Talking about environmental issues, the Prime Minister elaborated the LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) Mission and said that the problem of climate change can be tackled effectively through changing the lifestyle of everyone.
